14 years ago, if a PC game wanted to release an expansion it would involve releasing a new disk and the customer would have to drive to their local game store to pick it up. Thankfully times have changed and downloadable content (DLC) is the norm for game expansions. Age of Empires II was originally released way back in 1999 and received the customary expansion. Now, however, 14 years on it has received its first DLC The Forgotten (I’m pretty sure that’s some kind of record).
Featuring:
Five new civilizations :
- Italians
- Indians
- Slavs
- Magyars
- Incas
Four new campaigns:
- Alaric
- Sforza
- Bari
- Dracula
Two new game modes:
- Treaty
- Capture the Relic
It is available now on Steam for £6.99 or £20.69 for the full game plus DLC.
